ABOUT JACQUELINE

Growing up in Lebanon among 5 brothers and 3 sisters, the family table was a place of laughter, a place where problems were solved, plans were made, and love could be tasted in every dish of mjadrah, hummus, and tabbouléh.

When Jacqueline was 9 years old and her mother passed away, Jacqueline began to cook. First, she tackled just little things, simple dishes, a little girl trying to feed her father and see him smile. Standing in the kitchen where her mother once stood, among the mixing bowls and large pots, plates and wooden spoons, Jacqueline’s young heart understood what her mother had known all along:

Cooking is a language with no words. It tells those you love how much you care about them. Delicious food prepared with love nurtures the soul.

In 1980 Jacqueline moved to the United States and went to college in Walla Walla, Washington. She felt terribly alone and out of place, but not in the kitchen. The fragrance of meat simmering in onions and garlic, the scent of fresh mint and chopped cilantro, and the perfume of ground cinnamon and honey baked into pastries made from scratch, reminded Jacqueline of her home in Beirut. So she cooked for her new friends, and she cooked for the man she would marry, instilling in each flavorful, exotic, and nurturing dish a message of sincerity and friendship, a direct message of love.

Now, at home in the Bay Area with her husband and three sons, she continues to find joy and peace in cooking for those she loves. Her family table is like the table of her childhood, a place of laughter, where problems are solved, plans are made, and love can be tasted in every dish.

And since 2010, Jacqueline’s Catering has brought this journey of food and love to every table.

Using fresh farm-to-table organic produce, authentic Mediterranean spices, and the best cuts of meat, Jacqueline’s Catering combines professional technique, skill, and immense heart, providing an unforgettable experience of flavor and tradition that blends Lebanese passion and culture with modern Bay Area cuisine.
